Scavenger hunt assignment:

How many different bees can you spot? Snap some pictures and tag them with #pollinateCO on our Facebook page Colorado Pollinator Month.  Each entry adds to the hat, from which we draw a name for the winner of this week.  

This week’s prize is a lovely Solitary Bee Observation House from The Bees Waggle with a packet of wildflower seeds from BBBSeeds.

Mesa Verde, Colorado is hosting a series of pollinator educational events this week.  If you happen to bee there, drop by and say hi to the University of Colorado Museum of Natural History and The Bees Waggle. Specifics can be found HERE.

 

Take Action:  If you’d like to see more bee diversity in your own yard, consider planting more native flowering plants.  A wonderful resource for choice native plants is found at the Colorado Native Plant Society website.
